MAINTENANCE
-- Product Care
Information --
Cultured Marble is a pigmented blend
of polyester resin and fill. Our products are manufactured with the finest
available material to assure long lasting gloss and durability under proper
care. Custom Marble’s products are coated with a clear resin called Gel Coat.
Gel Coat produces a tough and transparent surface which will stand against
normal wear. It is non-porous (smooth like glass) so that it will decrease the
adherence of mildew and stain.
Custom Marble’s
product should give you years of service with some simple care.
We would like to
recommend the following in caring for our cultured marble product:
- Keeping
the luster
Use Gel Gloss, or
any cultured marble cleaner/polish to keep the luster of the product. Or, use
a damp cloth or sponge and mild detergent; such as: Windex, Formula
409, Fantastik, or Liquid Lysol.
To keep shower walls clean,
squeegee after each shower. This will prevent soap and water spots. Or, use a
product called Clean Shower.
Use of liquid car wax, or Gel
Gloss, will help restore the high gloss, provide a film to repel soap
scum, making future cleaning much easier.
Bad water spots
Use ammonia and water,
Lime Away
Tilex Soap Scum Remover
Mild solution of vinegar and
water
Regular cleaning will
help prevent hard water buildup.
Do not use cleaners
which contain abrasive. This
will dull the high gloss shine.
Some troublesome
stain
may require light sanding with
wet 600 grit sandpaper, followed with buffing compound (automotive type, o.k.)
, and finally polish with Gel Gloss.
- Scratches
Buff with an automotive type
rubbing compound.
Shower Bases and Floor
Use non-abrasive cleaner (such
as Tilex Soap Scum Remover, Liquid Lysol, Lime
Away. Let soak for a few minutes, scrub with a soft bristled brush and
rinse well.
Vanity Tops
Follow the same recommendations
as above.
